# Severity

There are five severity options:

| Severity | Icon |
| -------- | -------------------------------- |
| None | ![](/files/lLGhf9naDuUU8XThhdjG) |
| Info | ![](/files/yjijlXqwrf2mt46FfavA) |
| Warning | ![](/files/ZPgU3C3DCoMsZyF3odLs) |
| Alarm | ![](/files/LnBXSuoOPUFsYrPdDnKc) |
| Critical | ![](/files/0tANoS220Dtj5em4517h) |

A severity of **None** will prevent any notifications from being sent; this is only useful if you want to use the condition for [Event Triggered Reports](/clarity/reports/event-triggered-reports.md).

Severity may affect whether a given user receives email and text notifications, according to their [contact preferences](/clarity/contact-preferences.md), where they can filter notifications by severity and organization, but Clarity will always display **Info**, **Warning**, **Alarm**, and **Critical** notification toasts when alarms with notifications turned on occur, regardless of the user's contact preferences:
