# Introduction

You can configure Clarity to display alerts and/or send you text and email notifications when a [tag value is out of range](/clarity/alarms/configure/conditions.md#current-value-compared-to-fixed-value), [unavailable for a certain amount of time](/clarity/alarms/configure/conditions.md#tag-is-unavailable-for-amount-of-time), [has changed too rapidly](/clarity/alarms/configure/conditions.md#max-change-over-a-time-interval-compared-to-fixed-value), or [even more complex conditions](/clarity/alarms/configure/conditions.md#custom-formulae).
